San Galgano

The Legends of King Arthur and San Galgano, are characterized by the same element: the famous Sword in the Rock.
San Galgano, in fact, takes the name from its Founding Saint, who leaves army after several visions of the Archangel Gabriel.The story of the sword in the rock begins when the Saint, praying for his wounded horse, drove his sword into the rock like a holy cross, as act of faith and as sign of his conversion to God.
